The African Food Research Network (AfREN) is pleased to welcome Elizabeth Alagbe as a Research Analyst Intern, joining our mission to advance collaborative food research and innovation across Africa.
Elizabeth is a passionate food researcher dedicated to improving child nutrition and strengthening food security across the continent. She is currently pursuing her PhD at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), Morocco, where her research focuses on exploring how locally sourced African ingredients can be transformed into nutrient-rich food solutions for children.
Her work reflects a strong commitment to addressing nutrition challenges through science, innovation, and local resource utilization. Elizabeth believes that the path to a food-secure Africa lies not only in scientific discovery but also in collaboration across the food system. She is particularly passionate about building connections between scientists, farmers, policymakers, and communities to create sustainable solutions for nutrition and food security.
Beyond her research activities, Elizabeth is known for her leadership and community spirit. She enjoys bringing people together to collaborate on meaningful initiatives and actively volunteers for causes that promote social impact and community well-being.
Outside the laboratory, Elizabeth expresses her creativity through baking, cooking, and hair styling, reflecting her dynamic personality and appreciation for both science and everyday life.
At AfREN, Elizabeth will contribute to research coordination and knowledge development, supporting collaborative efforts that advance food innovation, nutrition security, and evidence-based solutions for African food systems.
