Welcome to the official website of the African Food Research Network.
The history of AfREN started in 2017 with a few postgraduate Food Science & Technology students who are nationals of different African countries. They all expressed regrets about the poor state of research facilities, funding and relationship between Food Science profession and many African societies.
The informal discuss resolved to be an agent of desirable change in the narrative. It was a considered opinion that sustainable change in the narrative is possible if all actors in the food value chain works together for the common good. AfREN is a growing collaborative network of research, industry, regulatory, trade and allied professionals and partners.
